The pineal gland (also called the pineal body, epiphysis cerebri, epiphysis or the “third eye”) is a small endocrine gland in the vertebrate brain. It produces the serotonin derivative melatonin, a hormone that affects the modulation of wake/sleep patterns and seasonal functions. Its shape resembles a tiny pine cone (hence its name), and it is located near the center of the brain, between the two hemispheres, tucked in a groove where the two rounded thalamic bodies join.
Every human being’s Pineal Gland or The third eye can be activated to spiritual world frequencies and enables you to have the sense of all knowing, godlike euphoria and oneness all around you. A pineal gland once tuned into to proper frequencies with help of meditation, yoga or various esoteric, occult methods, enables a person to travel into other dimensions, popularly known as astral travel or astral projection or remote viewing.
Pineal Gland is represented in Catholicism in Rome; they depict the pineal as a pine cone in art. The ancient societies like the Egyptians and the Romans knew the benefits and exemplified this in their vast symbologies with a symbol of an eye.
Pineal Gland reference is also in back of the U.S. dollar bill with what is called the ‘all seeing eye’, which is a reference to the ability of an individual (or group of individuals) to use this gland and go to the other side (spiritual world) and possibly control the thoughts and actions of people in the physical world by knowing what they are thinking at all times in our physical world.
Various research being conducted so far confirms that there are certain periods in the night, between the hours of one and four in the morning where chemicals are released in the brain that bring about feelings of connectedness to one’s higher source.
THINKING OUT OF THE BOX:
“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”
Have you ever had a dream?
Have you ever had a near-death experience?
Have you ever seen those funny shows about people’s “alien” abuction stories?
Chances are you have answered at least one of these questions. Now you are most likely wondering, “what does this have to do with DMT? I’ve never even heard of that.” All though you may have no idea what DMT is, chances are you have experienced it at least a few times this past week.
DMT or Dimethyltryptamine, is a chemical compound that is found in the part of your brian called the Pineal Gland. The Pineal Gland is a pinecone shaped gland in the middle of your brain located in between your two eyes. This chemical compound is found in every living animal, human, and some plants.
Soooo why is this important?
Dmt is responsible for something that baffles people as well as is a common occurence everynight, aka dreams. During your REM (rapid eye movement) cycle of sleep, this chemical is released into the bloodstream. This is what causes you to dream, and have a sense of “being” while you are in that dream process. Why this chemical is relased during your REM cycle? That is one of the many mysteries surrounding this chemical compound.
This is one of the many reasons why DMT is becoming more well-known in our society today.
DMT, like many mind altering substances, has been around since the dawn of human civilizations. In the US in 1931 this chemical compound was first scientifically synthesized by chemists. It was not until the 1950’s, that scientists discovered it has already occured in nature for millions of years. The first found documentation of DMT dates back to as early as the 8th century AD. Many South American shamans have been using a plant containing DMT for spirituality, and ceramonies for hundreds and thousands of years. Many other ancient cilivizations, such as the Ancient Egyptians, have been doing studies on the Pineal Gland and the uses of it since the time of the mummies. During mummification, the Egyptians would throw away the entire brain but save the Pineal Gland in a sacred jar to be buried with the dead. They believed it was this gland that was responsible for human consciousness. The Ancient Egyptians and the South Americans were two of the many acient cilivizations and great thinkers to take interest in this mysterious part of our body.
I think it’s a funny coincidence that the organ that has for thousands of years been called a 3rd eye actually has all of the components needed for a functioning eye. It is possible that when ancient traditions spoke of a “third eye” that they knew what they were talking about? On top of all of this, the pineal gland is also thought to secrete a chemical known as DMT, which has the nickname of “The Spirit Molecule”.
DMT is believed to be release during dreaming, during spiritual and mystical experiences, and during the time of death. It a chemical compound that, when ingested, has the most powerful hallucinogenic effects out of any other drug. The molecule that is speculated to give us all spiritual experience just so happens to be housed in the pineal gland.
French philosopher René Descartes (1596-1650) emphasized the pineal gland in his writings, calling it the seat of the soul and “The part of the body in which the soul directly exercises its functions.” He contended that this was centre at which the soul and body interacted, and where we receive our messages from the Divine. Even Jesus says in Matthew 6-22: “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”, so the idea of there being a spiritual eye is no new idea.
Unfortunately, the pineal gland can become calcified from heavy metals and fluoride which can restrict its biological function as a producer of melatonin (which regulates sleep cycles) and may also inhibit and psychic or spiritual function it may have.
The molecule DMT (N,N-Dimethyltryptamine) is a psychoactive chemical that causes intense visions and can induce its users to quickly enter a completely different “environment” that some have likened to an alien or parallel universe. The transition from our world to theirs occurs with no cessation of consciousness or quality of awareness. In this environment, beings often appear who interact with the person who is using DMT. The beings appear to inhabit this parallel realm. The DMT experience has the feel of reality in terms of detail and potential for exploration. The creatures encountered are often identified as being alienlike or elflike. Some of the creatures appear to be three-dimensional. Others appear to lack depth.
Author Terence McKenna has used DMT and feels that, “Right here and now, one quanta away, there is raging a universe of active intelligence that is transhuman, hyperdimensional, and extremely alien… What is driving religious feeling today is a wish for contact with this other universe.” The aliens seen while using DMT present themselves “with information that is not drawn from the personal history of the individual.”
DMT is also naturally produced in small quantities in the human brain, and it has been hypothesized that DMT is produced in the pineal gland in the brain. The pineal gland appears in the developing human fetus around 49 days after conception. Perhaps an embryo should not be considered human until DMT production commences. Note that “zygotic personhood” (the idea that a fertilized egg is a person) is a recent concept. For example, before 1869, the Catholic church believed that the embryo was not a person until it was 40 days old. (See my letter to President Bush on Cloning, Abortion, and Stem Cell Research.) Naturally occurring DMT may play a role in near-death experiences and alien-abduction experiences.
Is it possible that that some of our human ancestors produced more DMT than we do today? For example, many of the ancient Bible stories describe prophets with DMT-like experiences. (See my book The Paradox of God.) Consider as one example (Isaiah 6):
Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another:
“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”
At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke
These sorts of ecstatic singing and repetitive exaltations remind me of subjects who took DMT and heard: “Now do you see? Now do you see?” along with singing voices. (These cases are described in Rick Strassman’s book DMT: The Spirit Molecule.)
Maybe this is why the ancients seemed so in touch with God and with miracles and visions. Maybe Moses and Jesus had a greater rate of pineal DMT production than most.
When I asked Rick Strassman, M.D., author of DMT: The Spirit Molecule, about my theory, he responded: I’m not familiar with a specific theory that we made more DMT in the old days than now. But, are you familiar with Jaynes’ idea of the bicameral mind–that people routinely hallucinated until the connections between our hemispheres got evolved out for whatever reason? I don’t think hemispheric connections would support his idea as much as might higher levels of endogenous DMT. If indeed we made more DMT in the past, this may have to do with the increase in artificial light that has come upon us in the last 1000 years or so.
Also, recall that DMT experiences sometimes include 2-D cartoon-like characters. Often DMT entities lack depth. Could a higher-production of DMT in ancient people influenced artwork. Is that part of the reason why cave paintings and Egyptian art are so two dimensional?
One way to imagine how other realities could exist side by side with our own is to consider the forces that produced the diversity of senses and intelligences right here on Earth. In a real way, there are already alien worlds right here among us. Every Earthly creature perceives the world in an “alien” way. Dogs. Bees. Bats. Cats. They experience the world with different kinds of senses. They can smell what we cannot, they can see what we cannot, they can hear what we cannot. If the organisms of the Earth were somehow able to describe their world to you, it would probably not be recognizable to you. It would seem like the wildest world from any science-fiction story. Moreover, if you were able to describe the world to another species, they would “see” no resemblance to their own. Our sense of reality would be different; our way of thinking would be different, and even the practical technology we would produce would be different. We do not have to contemplate aliens or science fiction to imagine alienlike senses and bodies. The animal world of Earth is so diverse and full of different senses, that creatures are already walking among us possessing “alien” awarenesses beyond our understanding.
The sensation of seeing aliens, elves, or being in the presence of God(s) is not unique to DMT users. Otherwise sane people who have never tried DMT report these sensations all the time, and it is generally treated as a sign of psychosis. However, recent research has shown that by stimulating parts of the temporal lobe you can reliably reproduce the feeling of being in the presence of God (also known as “seeing the light” or having a “religious epiphany”). It is an innate human sensation (just like the feeling that “I’m being watched” is an innate human sensation) we just don’t catalog it as such because it is relatively rare, happening perhaps only once in a lifetime to those who do not artificially stimulate themselves, perhaps never in a lifetime. Some people have very dramatic religious epiphanies with angels and demons and all form of cherubim marching through with horns and such with no drugs whatsoever, and though it is a common event we generally treat it as a psychological abberation (though back in the day it was the stuff prophets were made of). Since this kind of religious vision phenomena is something our brains can already do on their own, the fact that a substance like DMT can reproduce this phenomena is not much of a stretch.
Now we have clear proof of DMT being manufactured in the living Pineal Glands of rats, and that the genes responsible for this exist in the Pineal Gland and Retina! The first implication is that Yes, it truly is a natural neurochemical responsible for modulating consciousness. It is not a foreign substance to the body & mind of mammals. Also, if found in rats in this context then it is almost certain to function similarly in humans.
From the press release:
We’re excited to announce the acceptance for publication of a paper documenting the presence of DMT in the pineal glands of live rodents. The paper will appear in the journal Biomedical Chromatography and describes experiments that took place in Dr. Jimo Borjigin’s laboratory at the University of Michigan, where samples were collected. These samples were analyzed in Dr. Steven Barker’s laboratory at Louisiana State University, using methods that funding from the Cottonwood Research Foundation helped develop.
The pineal gland has been an object of great interest regarding consciousness for thousands of years, and a pineal source of DMT would help support a role for this enigmatic gland in unusual states of consciousness. Research at the University of Wisconsin has recently demonstrated the presence of the DMT-synthesizing enzyme as well as activity of the gene responsible for the enzyme in pineal (and retina). Our new data now establish that the enzyme actively produces DMT in the pineal.
The next step is to determine the presence of DMT in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), the fluid that bathes the brain and pineal. CSF is a possible route for pineal-synthesized DMT to effect changes in brain function. Successfully establishing DMT’s presence in this gland adds another link in the chain between the pineal and consciousness and opens new avenues for research.
Divine Moments of Truth (DMT) Through Meditation.
This takes patience to go through an experience as intense as a regular DMT trip, but it works… All you have to do is go to sleep while staying awake. It’s strange, I know, but it works. You have to stop thinking about everyday life and almost everything, except focusing on what you’re doing. When you close you’re eyes there’s always an image there. You might not be able to see it, but you just have to focus. If you focus your eyes the right way, you can see it. Do that and just watch and observe whatever you see, it might not be moving, or anything for that matter, but just observe your breathing and/or what you see. Let everything happen naturally and be relaxed. Eventually you will start see some strange shit and feel weird sensations. I once felt like I was melting and that my skin was made of hollow rubber with no flesh or bone while flying and falling at the same time. It may sound scary, but I liked it for some reason.
Anyways, this is what I saw the very first time I actually did it.
I guess you could call it a form of meditation that releases DMT. All I know is it feels like a dream and you see and feel some crazy thing.
My first experience was the most intense, cause I wasn’t used to it. I saw waves of light moving around and vibrating with endless energy. This was also the longest I’ve ever done it, so it actually WAS more intense lol. After about 7-10 minutes I started hearing this weird beat that “moved” with the light. Then the light started to shift and light up only certain parts of the wave of energy or whatever it was. I started seeing shapes… They were scary, actually. I saw skeletons and skulls and what I thought was death. They weren’t crisp or anything, they were just outlined by the green light wave. But somehow… they were 3-D. 4-D, actually cause time was obvious in this strange world. I opened my eyes. I had done for so long, only about 10 to 12 mins, I could still see the figures with my eyes open. I noticed the ceiling was twisting and warping, and my walls were kind of “falling” out of reality, and “falling” back into it. I focused on the shapes again. I remember seeing like a jungle this time. I still saw the scary stuff, but tried to see what else there was. There were leaves, animals, and trees. I was in a jungle. I think my soul was there, and my body was experiencing it, who knows, but the most profound thing I saw was this thing… It was a human/alien/indian/shaman looking dude. I remember him looking down at me with what I thought was anger or disappointment or something. He went away and came back for a while in a cycle. Then once, he came back and tried “talking”. Not with words, but emotion or telepathy or something. But he implied something like “come with me, you have much to learn” or “let me show you around” or something like that. My vision was like I was underwater, and my room was still there, all this stuff was going on with those green waves of light. It seems like 30 or 45 mins had gone by. Only 15 did. At that point I stopped, cause I thought I had enough. That’s why the first few experiences scared the shit outta me, cause they were similar to this one.
Ever since that experience it’s been easier to meditate like this. I’ve been more peaceful, and less angry all the time. I no longer see skulls and death, but beautiful jungles with animals and trees that seem to made out of emotion. Love? Is that what Joe Rogan meant? I think I was a “bad” person before… cause of what I saw I think something was trying to tell me “HEY!!! Shape up!” you know? But now the experiences are full of love, peace, and truth.
Not sure if it’s DMT… sounds like it lol. But with DMT you ACTUALLY see these things. I actually saw them, but not at the same time, because it was faded with my room and reality. Maybe if I had kept it going? IDK I think it is DMT, and I’m 90% sure it is.
But I do think most of the human race would benefit from this. It seems to let you see the good in things. I used to be a depressed emo person… which I still kinda am.. but then I was negative about everything. Now, I try to enjoy things while I can. These experiences let me see the other side. Let me know there IS another side. Let me think WITH the other side. You know? It’s hard to explain… but people benefit differently.. but they usually stop being arrogant or ignorant or negative. It helps with a lot of things, just think and set up mental “simulations” and you’ll see what I mean.
What Is a Chakra?
The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. There are seven main chakras, which align the spine, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. To visualize a chakra in the body, imagine a swirling wheel of energy where matter and consciousness meet. This invisible energy, called Prana, is vital life force, which keeps us vibrant, healthy, and alive.
The Importance of the Main Chakras in the Body
These swirling wheels of energy correspond to massive nerve centers in the body. Each of the seven main chakras contains bundles of nerves and major organs as well as our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being. Since everything is moving, it’s essential that our seven main chakras stay open, aligned, and fluid. If there is a blockage, energy cannot flow. Think of something as simple as your bathtub drain. If you allow too much hair to go into the drain, the bathtub will back up with water, stagnate and eventually bacteria and mold will grow. So is too with our bodies and the chakras. A bathtub is simple; it’s physical so the fix is easy.
Keeping a chakra open is a bit more of a challenge, but not so difficult when you have awareness. Since mind, body, soul, and spirit are intimately connected, awareness of an imbalance in one area will help bring the others back into balance. Take for example, a wife, who has recently lost her husband. She develops acute bronchitis, which remains in the chest, and then gets chest pains each time she coughs. The whole heart chakra is affected in this case. If she realizes the connection between the loss and the bronchitis, healing will occur much faster if she honors the grieving process and treats that as well as the physical ailment.
The Chakras of Matter
The first three chakras, starting at the base of the spine are chakras of matter. They are more physical in nature.
First Chakra: The Muladhara is the chakra of stability, security, and our basic needs. It encompasses the first three vertebrae, the bladder, and the colon. When this chakra is open, we feel safe and fearless.
Second Chakra: The Svadhisthana chakra is our creativity and sexual center. It is located above the pubic bone, below the navel, and is responsible for our creative expression.
Third Chakra: The Manipura chakra means lustrous gem and it’s the area from the navel to the breastbone. The third chakra is our source of personal power.
The Fourth Chakra: The Connection Between Matter and Spirit
Located at the heart center, the fourth chakra, anahata is at the middle of the seven and unites the lower chakras of matter and the upper chakras of spirit. The fourth is also spiritual but serves as a bridge between our body, mind, emotions, and spirit. The heart chakra is our source of love and connection.
When we work through our physical chakras, or the first three, we can open the spiritual chakras more fully.
The Chakras of Spirit
Fifth Chakra: The Vishuddha chakra is the fifth chakra, located in the area of the throat. This is our source of verbal expression and the ability to speak our highest truth. The fifth chakra includes the neck, thyroid, and parathyroid glands, jaw, mouth, and tongue.
Sixth Chakra: The Ajna chakra is located in between the eyebrows. It is also referred to as the “third eye” chakra. Ajna is our center of intuition. We all have a sense of intuition but we may not listen to it or heed its warnings. Focus on opening the sixth chakra will help you hone this ability.
Seventh Chakra: The Sahaswara chakra or the “thousand petal lotus” chakra is located at the crown of the head. This is the chakra of enlightenment and spiritual connection to our higher selves, others, and ultimately, to the divine. It is located at the crown of the head.
Clue to Aligning the Chakras
Awareness to which of your chakras are out of balance is key to aligning them. Our bodies are in constant flux between balance and imbalance. Unless you have an apparent problem in one area of the body, imbalances can be difficult to detect. That being said, it’s good to bring awareness to your body/mind and start to learn its signals and clues.
For example, frequent constipation can indicate a blockage in the first chakra. A recurring sore throat leaves clues to a blocked fifth chakra. Frequent headaches around the area of the forehead may mean your sixth chakra is blocked.
